THE SCHOOL

Incheon International High School is a three-year public high school and boarding school. The school opened in 2008 and graduated its first senior class in February of 2011. The school was accredited as a specific purpose high school which specializes in international subjects, such as international law, international politics, international relations, and international economics.
There are 400 students are enrolled, including 133 seniors, 138 sophomores, and 129 freshmen. The multicultural student body is serviced by a certificated staff of 54 faculty members including its principal and vice principal. 55.8% of IIHS teachers have advanced degrees, including three doctoral degrees and 26 master degrees. The student body consists primarily of Koreans, but there are some students from the U.S. and China.

DISTINCTIONS

Incheon International High School has been nationally recognized as one of the top high schools by the Korea Nationwide School Review.

• IIHS ranked 4th from 2014 to 2016 and 3rd in 2017 nationwide based on high school student performance on the Korean College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT). Additionally, IIHS has placed 1st out of all public high schools in Korea for six years. The Korea Economic Daily, The Donga Ilbo Daily and other major newspapers have all published reports that rank IIHS among the top ten high schools in the country based upon the national achievement test data, standardized tests scores, and Korean CSAT performance results.
• Each year, our students rank among the best in performance on all high school scholastic assessments. There have been no IIHS students who have received unsatisfactory or mediocre scores on nationwide achievement tests.
• IIHS is accredited as a UNESCO Associated School Project Network by the Korean National Commission for UNESCO and as an English Education Leader School by the Ministry of Education.

ADMISSION

Of the graduating students from middle schools in Incheon city and other cities, only the top class students in English subjects, recommended by their principals, can apply to IIHS. Students with experiences of studying abroad, international students, or students who belong to minority groups have unique opportunities to apply for admission.
